How to Add & Verify a Sending Address


Before you can send any emails with NonprofitsHQ - whether it's a one-on-one message or a newsletter to your entire list - you’ll need to add and verify a Sending Address in your NonprofitsHQ account.


This step confirms that your organization has permission to send email from that address.


What’s a Sending Address?

A Sending Address is the email address that appears in the “From” field when your emails go out. For example: info@yournonprofit.org or events@yourdomain.org.


Requirements

To add a Sending Address, it must meet both of these conditions:

  • The domain (e.g., yourdomain.org ) must already be verified in your NonprofitsHQ account.
  • Your organization must be authorized to send and receive email at that address.

Why We Do This

This verification process protects your reputation and prevents spoofing by ensuring that only approved, verified email addresses can be used.


Add a Sending Address


Follow these steps to add a new Sending Domain to your NonprofitsHQ account:


Go to Profile Settings

From the dashboard, click your profile picture in the top-right corner and select Profile.


Open Sending Addresses

In the left-hand menu, click Sending Addresses to view and manage your list.


Then click the +Address button in the top right corner of this settings window. This will prompt you to enter the required information for your sending address, like the user and domain selection.


Enter Address Details


  • In the User field, type the first part of the email address (everything before the “@”).

    Example: for news@yourdomain.org , enter news .

  • Then, choose a verified domain from the dropdown list.



Verify a Sending Address


After adding a Sending Address, NonprofitsHQ will send a verification link to the address provided.

Simply click that link and you're good to go!


That's all!


Now you're ready to send email from the CRM or Marketing tools within your NonprofitsHQ account.
